Manual Syncs
In Shopify, product data should always match the data from your ERP, which is the source of truth. If you notice any discrepancies, you can download the data from your ERP and upload it to Shopify via the DotApparel App. It’s important to note that data flows only from your ERP to Shopify—you cannot override your ERP data with changes made in Shopify.
To resolve discrepancies, follow these steps:
1. Your ERP and DotApparel data do not match
If DotApparel is not receiving correct data from your ERP, you’ll need to download the data from your ERP into DotApparel:
- Go to Product > Select the product dropdown > Download from Apparel21*
- You can either select specific products or perform a bulk product catalog download from your ERP.
- For inventory, go to Inventory > Select the inventory dropdown > Download from Apparel21
These changes are automatically uploaded to Shopify every 30 minutes. If you need an immediate sync, follow the steps below.
2. DotApparel and Shopify data do not match
If Shopify isn’t receiving correct data from DotApparel, you’ll need to manually upload the data from DotApparel to Shopify:
- Go to Product > Select the product dropdown > Upload to Shopify
- You can either select specific products or perform a bulk upload from AP21.
- For inventory, go to Inventory > Select the inventory dropdown > Upload to Shopify
3. Shopify data and the front end do not match
This is a front-end issue and should be addressed by your front-end development team. The DotApparel app is responsible solely for syncing data between Shopify and AP21; it does not handle front-end functionality.
Example Scenarios
• The inventory in Shopify doesn’t match AP21
• The description in Shopify doesn’t match AP21
• The price in Shopify doesn’t match AP21
To resolve any of these issues, follow the steps below:
1. Open the DotApparel App
2. Navigate to Product > Search for the product
3. Select Product > Download from Apparel21
4. Once the download is complete, select Product > Upload to Shopify
Afterward, click the View in Shopify button to verify that the data now mirrors what’s in DotApparel. If the issue persists, please raise a support ticket for further investigation.
*Please note that the steps provided are specific to Apparel21 integration. For other ERP integrations, the ERP button will vary based on your platform.
Images & Market Syncing
The same logic applies to product images and markets. If you notice any discrepancies, download from the source of truth and then upload to Shopify.
